Clarendon Hills
Bicycle taken
According to police, a $350 bicycle was taken between June and July from the storage room of an apartment building in the 500 block of Carlysle Drive. The bike was reported missing at 4:15 p.m. July 16, police said.

License suspended
Robert Moten, 38, of Chicago, was charged with driving while license suspended after being arrested at 2:30 p.m. July 17 at Route 83 and 55th Street.
Moten also was charged with driving an uninsured motor vehicle, police added.

Reckless driving charge
Police said Simon James, 18, of Lombard, was charged with reckless driving after being arrested at about 1:45 p.m. July 18 at Route 83 and Ogden Avenue.
James’ car lost control and hit a wall, police said. He was also charged with following too closely, failure to signal when required, speeding, improper lane usage and improper driving on the shoulder, police added.

Fraud alleged
According to police, a contractor was hired and paid $40,000 to do work in the 200 block of Coe Road. He only did half of the work before disappearing, police said. The incident was reported at 8:45 a.m. July 18, police added.

Police make DUI stop
Police said Joel Fonerko, 33, 6 Mohawk Drive, Clarendon Hills, was charged with speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol after being arrested at 11:45 p.m. July 22 at Ogden Avenue and Stonegate Road.

Home burglarized
Two residential burglaries took place overnight between July 24 and 25 in the 200 block of Holmes Avenue and the 0 to 100 block of Powell Street, according to police.

Police do not yet have a list of items that were taken as the residents are out of town. The burglaries were reported by the house sitters, police said.

Cell phone taken
A pre-paid cell phone was taken at 11:15 a.m. July 25 from the Church of Holy Nativity, 275 S. Richmond Ave., according to police.
The phone is valued at $50, police said.

Tire damaged
Police said the right rear tire of a car was flattened overnight between July 25 and 26 in the 400 block of Ruby Street.
The damage is estimated at $20, police added.

Drug possession alleged
Police said Schweta Kasbekar, 25, 4232 Main St., Downers Grove, was charged with speeding and possession of marijuana after being arrested at about 1:15 a.m. July 27 at Chicago and Gilbert avenues.

No valid license
Police said Jose Gonzalez, 19, of Bolingbrook, was charged with speeding and no valid driver’s license after being arrested at 11:30 p.m. July 27 on Route 83 between Ogden and Chicago avenues.

Bike taken
According to police, a bike was taken at 3 p.m. July 24 from the 300 block of Holmes Avenue.
The bike is valued at $400, police added.

Another bike missing
According to police, a bike was taken between July 26 and 28 from the 200 block of Railroad Avenue.
The bike is valued at $300, police added.

Hinsdale
Property damaged
According to police, the entrance door of the football field score box was damaged between 11:30 a.m. July 14 and 3:30 p.m. July 15 at Hinsdale Central High School, 55th and Grant streets. A window and fence also were damaged.
The lock was pried open to gain access to the score box of the soccer field and an attempt was made to gain access to the score box on the football field. A hole was cut in the fence, police said. An amplifier, score board module and transmitter were taken, police added. The total loss is $1,500.

Cars burglarized
According to police, an unlocked Volkswagen Jetta and an unlocked GMC Yukon were burglarized between 11 p.m. July 15 and 7:15 a.m. July 16 on the 400 block of Thurlow Street. A hand bag, two wallets, sunglasses, video game system, tote bag and MP3 player were missing, police said. The total loss is $6,050.

Theft alleged
A wallet was taken between 12 and 4 p.m. July 15 from a purse in an office on the 900 block of North York Road, according to police reports.
The wallet contained a driver’s license, credit cards, and $50, police said.
During the same time period $120 was taken from a deposit office envelope and $20 was taken from a wallet in the 900 block of North York Road, police added.

Teens resist arrest: police
Thomas O’Day, 17, of Western Springs, and Spyidon Peter Hasiakos, 17, of Indian Head Park, were charged with resisting a police officer and violating park hours after being arrested at about 11:15 p.m. July 16 at Brook Park, Third Street and Columbia Road, police said.

O’Day and Hasiakos attempted to run away from the officer, according to police.

Man faces drug charge
Manfred Herz, 18, 6165 Knollwood Road, Willowbrook, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of a weapon after being arrested at about 8:45 p.m. July 18 on the 800 block of South Vine Street, according to reports.

After searching Herz’s car, a set of metal knuckles were found in the center counsel, police said. Six syringes, a glass vial containing anabolic steroids and 10 aluminum packets of heroin also were found in the center compartment, police said.

Minors caught drinking
Clare Liston, 18, of River Forest; Kristen Rosemeyer, 18, 810 S. Thurlow St., Hinsdale; Quintin Wright, 18, of Bellwood; and Alexander Nunez, 18, of Chicago; were charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor after being arrested at 11:45 p.m. July 6 in an apartment on the 200 block of 59th Street, police said.

Struggle leads to arrest
Jordan Brooker, 18, 317 N Garfield St., Hinsdale, and Michael Alfirevic, 18, 5518 S. Park Ave., Hinsdale, were charged with consumption of alcohol by a minor and resisting a peace officer after being arrested at about 12:15 a.m. July 20 on the 300 block of East First Street, police said.

Brooker was charged with battery and Alfirevic was charged with aggravated battery, police said. A police officer suffered a possible fractured wrist during the struggle, according to police.

Weaving leads to DUI
Shannan Bedgood, 42, of Western Springs, was charged with improper lane use and driving under the influence of alcohol after being arrested at about 11 p.m. July 20 at 55th Street near the Tri-State Tollway, according to police reports.
Bedgood also was charged with speeding and failure to signal, police added.

Pump-and-run reported
According to police, two gasoline thefts occurred July 20 and 21 at the same gas station.

Police said, Shawnice C. Starling, 23, of Harvey, and Alonzo T. Johnson, 24, of Chicago, pumped $31.81 worth of gas and did not pay at 11 p.m. July 20 at the Shell Gas Station, 210 E. Ogden Ave.

Starling also allegedly pumped $27.77 worth of gas and did not pay at 11:30 a.m. July 21 at the same gas station. Both were charged with theft.

Car burglarized
An unlocked Ford Mustang was entered and items were stolen between 6 p.m. July 21 and 6:45 a.m. July 22 in the 500 block of East First Street, police said. According to police, the items taken were a radar detector, an iPod, a folding knife and a portable navigation system. The estimated loss is $880.

Leaving the scene alleged
According to police, Megan C. Bailey, 22, 75 Norfolk Ave., Clarendon Hills, was charged with failed to yield to pedestrian and failure to give information at the scene of an accident at 3 p.m. July 22 at Pamela Circle and County Line Road.

Police said Bailey struck a 16-year-old girl who was walking in the crosswalk with her car and did not stop at the scene to report the accident. The victim suffered minor injuries to her knee, police added.

Battery alleged
Adam Ndamange, 40, of Chicago, was charged with battery after being arrested at 9:45 a.m. July 23 at Garfield Street at Burlington Drive, police said.
According to police, Ndamange made physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature with the victim.

Car burglarized
Police said a 2004 Toyota Highlander was entered by force through the passenger front side window between 2:45 and 3:45 p.m. July 23 in the 500 block of East Ogden Avenue. An iPod and case were stolen. The total loss is $400.

Tire damaged
According to police, the front driver side tire of a vehicle was damaged between midnight July 22 and 12:45 p.m. July 23 in the 400 block of South Lincoln Street.

Property vandalized
A building was vandalized with gray spray paint between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. July 24 in the 400 block of South Jackson Street, police said.

Trespassing alleged
Police said Jarrod F. Pollard, 19, 211 W. 59th St., Hinsdale, was charged with criminal trespass to real property and resisting arrest by a police officer after being arrested at 8:15 p.m. July 25 in the 300 block of West 59th Street.

According to police, Pollard violated an order of no trespass and resisted arrest when confronted by the officer.

DUI arrest made
David J. Vrtis, 20, of Brookfield, was charged with two counts of driving under the influence after being arrested at 3 am. July 26 at Ogden Avenue and the Tri-State Tollway, police said.

According to police, Vrtis also was charged with improper lane usage and no license plate.

Battery alleged
According to police, Eric J. Alexander, 17, 61 Waverly Ave., Clarendon Hills, was charged with battery after being arrested at 8 p.m. July 26 in the 300 block of Radcliffe Way.

Alexander allegedly made physical contact of an insulting or provoking nature with the victim during the incident that occurred between 11:45 p.m. July 25 and midnight July 26, police said.

Oak Brook
DUI alleged
Police said Wesley Hentges, 24, of Lombard, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol after being arrested at about 3 a.m. July 8 on 22nd Street west of Spring Road.

Hentges also was charged with improper lane usage, police added.

Woman charged with theft
Police said Araceli Ceja, 35, of Melrose Park, was charged with retail theft after being arrested at about 5:45 p.m. July 14 at Macy’s, 1 Oakbrook Center.

Ceja tried to take two pieces of jewelry, valued at $156, by hiding it in the stroller she had with her, police added.

Car stolen
According to police, a car was stolen between 10:15 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. July 14 from Follett Higher Education, 1818 Swift Drive. Police said there was no broken glass or other evidence at the scene. The doors were locked, but one window was partially rolled down due to a defective window motor, police added. The car contained a digital camera, two pairs of new shoes, jumper cables and a tire pump.

Two charged with theft
Police said Petya Dangulova, 22, and Nelly Kostova, 24, both of Palatine, were charged with retail theft after being arrested at about 4:30 p.m. July 16 at Macy’s, 1 Oakbrook Center.

Dangulova attempted to take $75 worth of merchandise, and Kostova concealed $79 worth of clothing. Both concealed the items under their clothes, police said.

Jewelry taken
Police said Susan Fedeanis, 53, of Justice, was charged with retail theft after being arrested at about 7 p.m. July 19 at Nordstrom, 10 Oakbrook Center.
Fedeanis concealed a pair of earrings and a necklace in a shopping bag, police added. The items are valued at $245.

Police make retail arrest
Police said Anthony Bausal, 56, of Maywood, was charged with retail theft after being arrested at 1 p.m. July 19 at Macy’s, 1 Oakbrook Center.

Bausal stole a digital picture frame and then returned it for a $60 gift card, police said. He then took a stainless cooking pot from the shelf and went to another cashier and returned it for $40, according to police. From there, he took a wheeled piece of luggage valued at $278 and walked out of the store, police added.
