Car stolen from lot
A gold colored 2001 Lincoln Continental was reported stolen between 5 and 6:45 p.m. Aug. 5 from the GM Training Center parking lot, 300 E. Ogden Ave., police said.
The victim told police the vehicle had been locked, and inside the car was a briefcase, identification cards, cash, credit cards and checks, according to police reports.
No property loss estimate was provided.
Motor scooter taken
An unlocked silver and gray motor scooter was reported taken between Aug. 3 and 7 from an alley near 100 S. Washington St., police said.
DUI charges filed
• Giovany Avila, 20, of Romeoville was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and disobeying a traffic control device after being arrested at about 6:30 a.m. Aug. 8 at Ogden Avenue and York Road, police said.
• Milan N. Crnovich, 17, 530 S. Grant St., Hinsdale was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving while under the influence of alcohol-drugs, possession of a controlled substance and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
The accident occurred at 11:45 a.m. Aug. 8 in the 600 block of South Lincoln Street, according to police.
According to police, Crnovich’s car allegedly struck an unoccupied, parked vehicle.
Trespassing alleged
Four area men were charged with criminal trespassing after being arrested at 11 p.m. Aug. 3 after they refused to leave property owned by St. Isaac’s Church, 306 W. Fourth St., police said.
Charged with criminal trespass to property were Michael J. Nelson, 18, 1321 Hawkins Ave., Downers Grove; Clyde S. Meyer, 18, of Naperville; Nicholas T. Edwards, 21, of Naperville; and Michael V. Ramos, 17, of La Grange Highlands, police said.
The four were skateboarding on church property despite signs posted prohibiting trespassing and skate boarding, according to police. The four were arrested after being asked to leave the premises numerous times, according to police reports.
Motorized toy taken
A child’s motorized riding toy, valued at $246, was reported taken between noon and 6:30 p.m. Aug. 5 from the rear yard of a residence in the 0 to 100 block of South Adams Street, police said.
Cab driver assaulted
Police continue to investigate an incident in which three people reportedly pushed a cab driver to the ground, failed to pay for a cab ride and damaged the vehicle at about 1 a.m. Aug. 7 near Monroe and Walnut streets, police said.
The driver told police one man and two women, all about 17 or 18 years old, ran from the scene after failing to pay a $14 cab fare, police said.

Couple faces drug charges
Ross C. Fitzpatrick, 50, and Viki S. Fitzpatrick, 50, 12231 Spire Drive, Lemont, were both charged with possession of marijuana after being arrested at 4:15 p.m. Aug. 8 in the 8800 block of Lemont Road, police said. Ross Fitzpatrick also was cited for speeding, according to police.
GPS taken from car
A GPS and accessories, MP3 player, headphones and a cell phone power cord were reported taken between 9:45 p.m. Aug. 4 and 8:30 a.m. Aug. 5 from a vehicle parked in the 8300 block of High Point Circle, police said. The items valued at $420.
Man faces DUI charges
Cedric L. Smith, 37, 7315 Winthrop Way, Downers Grove, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and illegal transportation of alcohol after being pulled over at 9:30 p.m. Aug. 7 at Cass Avenue and Interstate 55, according to police.
