Men charged with DUI
Hugo Remigio, 21, Juan A. Garcia, 26, both of Bolingbrook, were charged with driving while under the influence after being arrested at 11:45 p.m. Sept. 1 in the 200 block of East Chicago Avenue, police said.
At about 11:30 p.m., a person called police to tell them another car had just struck his vehicle and had left the scene traveling westbound on Chicago Avenue.
Police stopped a car driven by Garcia, but discovered Remigio was the driver at the time of the accident, police said.
Garcia also was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and illegal transportation of alcohol.
Remigio also was charged with not having a valid drivers license, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, failure to give information after striking an unattended vehicle and illegal transportation of alcohol, according to police.
Darien
DUI alleged
Shannon M. Northam, 28, 733 Cottonwood Court, Willowbrook was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of a controlled substance.
The woman was arrested at 3:15 a.m. Sept. 11 in the 8100 block of Cass Avenue after police came across Northam siting in a vehicle with the car alarm activated, according to police.
Thefts reported
A homeowner in the 8000 block of Barrymore Drive, Darien, reported to police that two men made off with $241 in cash, as well as jewelry, gift cards, a watch and a video game at about 7:45 p.m. Sept. 10, police said.
According to police, the victim said a man came to the door of his residence asking to borrow some tools to repair a car. While the victim was showing the man tools in the garage, a second male entered the home and took items from the master bed room.
The loss of property was estimated at $9,076, police said.
Trespassing alleged
James E. Teresi, 18, 7105 Richmond Ave., Darien, was charged with two charges of criminal trespass to a vehicle after being arrested at 3:45 a.m. Aug. 30, police said.
A man in the 7200 block of Richmond Avenue called called police to tell them Teresi was inside a car parked at his residence. A K-9 unit tracked Teresi to his house, where he was arrested, police said.
