DuPage County households affected by the floods of September and October 2008 may be eligible for assistance to pay for restoration and repairs.

These can be repairs still not completed on damaged property or to assist with financial losses directly related to the flooding events.

DuPage County Community Services is now accepting applications for the Illinois DisasterAssistance Program. These federal funds were released to assist agencies and individuals impacted by the flooding events between Sept. 13 and Oct. 5 of 2008. Residents who continue to experience a hardship directly related to the floods are eligible to apply for assistance.

Households must complete an intake process through DuPage County Community Services. Benefit levels will be determined by DuPage County staff upon review of the documentation provided.

If you have any questions about the Illinois Disaster Assistance Program, please contact DuPage County Human Services at (630)407-6500 or (800) 942-9412 for additional information and potential eligibility to receive assistance.
