Darien parade kicks off at high school

The Fourth of July Parade in Darien is scheduled to step off from Hinsdale South High School, 7401 Clarendon Hills Road, at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, parade officials say.

The parade will proceed north on Clarendon Hills Road to Plainfield Road, west on Plainfield Road to 75th Street, then to Eisenhower Junior High School, 1410 75th St..

Several community groups and marching bands are scheduled to take part in the parade, sponsored by the Lions Club of Darien, officials said.

A fireworks display will take place at Zigfield Troy Golf and Par Three, Woodridge, beginning at dusk.

The display is shared by the City of Darien, Village of Woodridge and Village of Downers Grove.

Darien residents are encouraged to park in commercial parking lots in the Four Corners area of the city, officials said.
