Willowbrook, IL -

A man was reportedly stabbed at about  2:30 a.m. Sunday in the parking lot of the Shell gas station, 7000 Kingery Highway.

Willowbrook Deputy Police Chief Pat Foley said police do have a suspect identified, and detectives are pursuing the open investigation.

Police said Willowbrook officers responded to Walgreen’s, 7516 Cass Ave., Darien, for a report of a man who was bleeding. The 18-year-old Willowbrook man said he had been stabbed in the arm after getting into an argument with a black male subject at the Shell station just prior.

The injury, caused by an unknown sharp object, was superficial and the man refused medical treatment.

“This is an isolated incident,” said Foley. “Obviously this type of thing doesn’t happen very frequently in Willowbrook and this type of crime isn’t anything residents should worry about.”
