VIDEO: Lace school hosts pig races in honor of fundraiser

Lace Elementary School, 7414 S Cass Ave., Darien, knows how to compete.

The school-wide wrapping paper selling contest ended in $27,000 worth of sales raised from Lace and Mark DeLay School, 6801 Wilmette Ave., Darien, half of which will go directly to the Parent Teacher Association.

The two top selling classes raced electronic pigs in the gym during assemblies held for each grade level on Tuesday, Oct. 7. The winning class will receive an ice cream party from the PTA.

The top selling classes were:

• 3rd Grade
Jennifer Reyes’s class: $843 (Pig Race Winner)
Mike Moyer’s class: $832

• 4th Grade:
Nicole Schroeter’s class: $1,214 (Pig Race Winner)
LeeAnne Lewis’s class: $1,008

• 5th Grade
Gerry Dulkoski’s class: $877 (Pig Race Winner)
Bob Johnson’s class: $832
