As Illinois student performance standards get tougher each year, more schools are falling short of the mark, according to statewide report cards released this week.
The Darien holiday tree lighting ceremony will take place as originally scheduled at 4 p.m. Dec. 6 following the Darien City Council’s decision Monday, Nov. 2, to spend $40,000 to bury electrical power lines near the site of the ceremony.
If the state approves Community Consolidated School District 181’s request to designate two intersections as hazardous, school buses for children near those areas would be partially subsidized.
Because a proposed addition to The Birches in Clarendon Hills will not bring additional students into Hinsdale Township High School District 86, the developer will not have to provide impact fees to the district.
