Hinsdale Central High School and Hinsdale South High School both have been named to the “Newsweek” magazine’s annual list of top public schools nationwide.
The poll ranked the top 1,500 public schools throughout the country.
Hinsdale Central ranked 276th and Hinsdale South ranked 1,433rd, according to the magazine and Hinsdale High School District 86 officials.
Forty-seven schools in Illinois made the list, with Hinsdale Central ranking fifth in the state and Hinsdale South 46th.
Hinsdale Central is located in Hinsdale, Hinsdale South in Darien. According to Hinsdale Township High School District 86 Superintendent Nicholas Wahl, both schools rank in the top 6 percent nationwide out of 27,000 schools.
