The YMCA and the Rotary Club of La Grange, will host the 9th Annual Pilgrim Pacer on Sunday, Nov. 22.
The event starts at the Lyons Township High School Fieldhouse at Cossitt Avenue and Park Road in La Grange. Registration and packet pickup will be from 7 to 8:15 a.m. and the 5 K run/walk will begin at 8:30.
Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers in each of the nine separate age groups. Further information regarding registration is available at www.lagrangerotary.org.
Proceeds will benefit the many charities and human aid projects the Rotary Club and YMCA sponsor.
A Little Pilgrims 100-yard dash for children will be held immediately after the race.
On Thanksgiving Day, the YMCA will host its 12th Annual Day of Giving at the YMCA building, 1100 W. 31st St., La Grange Park.
The morning will begin with Boot Camp at 7:15 a.m., followed by Zumba at 8:15 a.m. and Body Pump at 9:15 a.m.. Three Spin classes will be held at 7:45, 8:45 and 9:45.
These classes will not be open to the public and space is limited. Pre-registration cost is $10 plus a canned good.
If space is still available, tickets will be sold Thanksgiving Day at $15 each plus a canned good.
Cash donations will benefit the Greater La Grange Special Olympics and the canned goods will fill the shelves of the Greater Chicagoland Food Depository.
