La Grange, IL -

Adventist La Grange Memorial Hospital is restricting visitors due to concerns about spreading the H1N1 and seasonal flu viruses based on recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Effective immediately, any visitors who have symptoms of influenza or who recently had influenza should not come to the hospital.

The CDC recommends individuals stay home for three days without fever or use of medication to reduce fever before going back to work, school or visiting a hospital.

Because children under age 12 have immature immune systems, they are restricted from visiting hospital patients.

Once the threat of H1N1 is reduced, child-friendly visiting policies will be reimplemented, according to the hospital.
