Radio receiver stolen
A satellite radio receiver, valued at $300, was reported stolen between Oct. 1 and Oct. 12 from an unlocked car parked in the 100 block of East Fourth Street, police said.
Teen charged with theft
Patrick E. Wallach, 17, 140 S. Clay St., Hinsdale, was charged with theft after being arrested at 3 p.m. Oct. 13 at 121 Symonds Drive, police said.
Wallach was charged after police learned he had a global positioning system unit reported stolen in July. He was served with a warrant for theft and arrested at the police station, Deputy Police Chief Mark Wodka said.
According to Wodka, the GPS unit was taken from a car between July 11 and July 13 from the 900 block of South Monroe Street.
According to police, this is the third time in three months Wallach has been charged with theft. Police continue to investigate other thefts to see if Wallach could be connected to those, Wodka said.
Tobacco possession alleged
Adam A. Barber, 17, 421 Ridge St., Clarendon Hills was charged with possession of tobacco by a minor after being cited at 7:45 a.m. Oct. 20 near 57th and Madison streets after officers saw him smoking, according to police.
Man arrested at train depot
Matthew L. Morrissey, 45, of Naperville was charged with soliciting without a permit after being arrested at 9 a.m. Oct. 19 at the Hinsdale train station, 25 E. Hinsdale Ave., police said.
According to police reports, Morrissey was soliciting money from pedestrians at the train stations.
Obstruction alleged
Adrijan Tairi, 19, 20 N. Tower Ave., Oak Brook was charged with attempting to obstruct justice after being arrested at 11 a.m. Oct. 18 near Garfield Avenue and Walnut Street, police said.
According to police, Adrijan also was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. After being pulled over, Tairi allegedly attempted to give a false name.
Darien
Man faces DUI charge
Arthur Cruz, 56, of Joliet was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and illegal transportation of alcohol.
He was arrested at 1 a.m. Oct. 17 on northbound Interstate 55 near Lemont Road, police said. Police said Cruz was charged after officers saw Cruz urinating beside his vehicle.
Landscape lights smashed
Several LED landscape lights, valued at $100, were reported smashed between 5 p.m. Oct. 17 and 11 a.m. Oct. 18 in the 8000 block of Capra Trail, according to police.
