Woman charged with theft
A woman was charged with theft after being arrested at about 2 p.m. Aug. 23, police said.
Christine Karko, 34, of Brookfield was an employee of the Shell Food Mart at 210 E. Ogden Ave. She allegedly stole $1,100 from the business, police said.

Money stolen from home
Police said $13,600 was taken from a safe in a home between June 27 and July 21 in the 700 block of North Oak Street. The incident was reported to police  Aug. 25. There was no forced entry to the home or safe, police added.

Alcohol charges filed
A teenager was charged with illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor after being arrested at about 2:45 a.m. Aug. 26.

Tiffany Lee, 19, of Worth was seen leaving a tavern near 55th Street and Madison Avenue.

Man charged with DUI
A man was charged with driving under the influence after being arrested at about 10:15 p.m. Aug. 28 at the intersection of Ogden Avenue and Route 83, police said.

James McArdle, 57, of Downers Grove had been stopped by police for speeding and improper lane usage, police said. He refused to submit to a breath test to determine his blood alcohol level, police added.

DUI alleged
A man was charged with driving under the influence after being arrested at about 11:15 p.m. Aug. 29 in the 5500 block of South Garfield Avenue.

Anthony Bosko, 28, of La Grange was stopped for driving without lights when required and for failure to signal a turn. He also was charged with expired registration and operating an uninsured vehicle.

Teenager faces drug charge
Police said a teenager was charged with possession of marijuana after being arrested at 10:30 p.m. Aug. 30 at the intersection of Ogden Avenue and Monroe Street.

Ruben Salazar, 17, of Berwyn was a passenger in a car. The 16-year-old driver was stopped for having only one headlight and not having a valid driver’s license, police said.

DARIEN
Protection order violated
A man was charged with violating an order of protection after being arrested at about 11 a.m. Aug. 25 in the 7400 block of Richmond Avenue.

Timothy Gannon, 19, 7421 Richmond Ave., was arrested and charged after he returned to a protected address on the order.

Girl faces drug charge
A girl was charged with possession of marijuana after being arrested at about 7 p.m. Aug. 29 in the 7400 block of Brookdale Avenue.

A 15-year-old Willowbrook girl was found with marijuana after police received a complaint of people smoking in the wooded area between the Sportsplex and Brookdale Apartments.

GPS reported stolen from car
Three unlocked cars were entered Aug. 30 in the 7700 block of Gail Street, police said. A Garmin global positioning system was stolen along with two wireless headsets for a video player. The loss is valued at $550.

Mailboxes damaged
Three mailboxes were damaged between 10 p.m. and 2:45 a.m. on Aug. 29, police said.

One mailbox, in the 1600 block of Golfview Road, was damaged overnight by an unknown object. The loss is listed at $100.

A second mailbox was damaged after being struck with a blunt object in the 1500 block of Evergreen Lane. The loss is listed at $40.

The third mailbox, in the 8000 block of Sawmill Creek Drive, was damaged after being struck with a blunt object. Tire tracks also were found on the parkway. The loss is listed at $100.
