Computer, hats stolen
A laptop computer and a collection of hats, valued at $1,000, were reported stolen between 8:15 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. Oct. 24 in the 200 block of West 59th Street, police said. The victim told police he was at work when a suspect allegedly made off with the items.
Domestic battery alleged
Michael Hussey, 17, 941 S. Monroe St., Hinsdale, was charged with two counts of domestic battery after being arrested at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 21.
Police were called to the same address for reports of a man making illegal contact of a provoking or insulting nature to a person, according to police.
Trespassing reported
Neil Miller, 17, of La Grange; Cody Louder, 17, of Countryside; and Josh Nunez, 17, of Countryside were all charged with trespassing after being arrested at 4 p.m. Oct. 25 in the 900 block of North Elm Street, police said. The teens were allegedly skateboarding on property where signs prohibiting trespassing had been posted, police said.
Repair fraud investigated
On Oct. 26 a Hinsdale resident living in the 200 block of Monroe Street reported to police that Schaumburg-based Fidelity Reconstruction failed to complete repair work after the victim issued a check for $1,000 for roof repairs in June.
According to police, the victim has been unsuccessful in trying to contact the company since August.
The victim told police he is aware of two other area residents who have had similar issues with the company, but those people do not live in Hinsdale, police said.
Darien
Two men face DUI charges
• Santiago Lazcano, 21, of Bolingbrook was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage, failure to signal, driving without insurance and driving without a valid driver’s license.
He was arrested at 3:30 a.m. Oct. 25 heading southbound on Interstate 55 near Lemont Road, according to police. Lazcano was seen driving erratically along the inside shoulder of I-55, police added.
• Jose Guillermo Suarez, 56, of Plainfield was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, improper lane usage and failure to signal after being pulled over at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 25 on southbound Interstate 55 near the Veterans Memorial Tollway, police said.
Property damaged
A lantern-style light was reported broken and two windows were reported scratched between 5 p.m. Oct. 18 and 10:45 a.m. Oct. 21 at the Meyers Woods barn, 2500 Oldfield Road, police said.
Damage is estimated at $650.
Man charged with theft
Alfredo Lopez, 21, 6708 Alpine Lane, Westmont was charged with retail theft after being arrested at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 22 at Wal-Mart, 2189 75th St.
Police were called to the store for reports by store security that a man had put two iPod cables in his pocket and exited the building without paying for them, police said.
