In an effort to clean the streets of Cicero, town officials are asking residents to place any over-sized garbage items or yard waste in their alley dumpsters or in bags next to the receptacles now through Saturday, May 30.
Public Works employees will be making special pick-ups of items for the next three days. The campaign is part of the town’s CLEAN campaign, a five-pronged effort to improve Cicero through community leadership, law enforcement, resident assistance, and protecting neighborhoods.
The three-day program will conclude Saturday with a town-wide clean-up from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers are asked to meet at the Public Safety Building, 5410 W. 34th St., or at the North Complex, 1634 S. Laramie Ave. The town will provide free lunch to volunteers at 1 p.m. at Cicero Community Park, 34th Street and Laramie Avenue.
To volunteer for the pick-up event, call the Community Development Office at (708) 656-8223.
