The Town of Cicero will host more than a dozen free festivals, movies, and concerts now through September.
Every Wednesday through Sept. 9, residents are invited to a free movie in the park from 6 to 10 p.m. at Cicero Community Park, 35th Street an Laramie Avenue. "Ghostbusters" will be shown Aug. 12, followed by "Duck Soup Marx Bros." on Aug. 19, "The Cheetah Girls: One World" on Aug. 26, "Kung Fu Panda" on Sept 2, and "Casablanca" on Sept. 9. All showings include free popcorn, food and beverages, a Kids Zone, and music.
A free summer concert series will also be held from 6 to 10 p.m. every Thursday and Sunday now through Sept. 24, also at Community Park. On Aug. 13, rock & roll bands will pay tribute to Elvis Presley, followed by tropical music on Aug. 20, mariachi music and dance on Aug. 27, Big Band music on Sept. 17 and Danzon on Sept. 24.
The Chicago House Music Festival will also be held from noon to 10 p.m. on Aug. 29 and Aug. 30. All concerts will feature food, beverages, a Kids Zone, a DJ, and prizes.
