Lori Lelis, a 23-year veteran of the Cicero Police Department, was named interim police superintendent May 26 following superintendent Anthony Iniquez’s retirement May 15, according to town officials.
Lelis, a long-time Cicero resident, has worked in the department’s Detective Unit and Gang Crimes Tactical Unit. She currently oversees the department’s Outstanding Task Force Unit.
Lelis will serve as the interim superintendent while the Town Board searches for a permanent replacement.
Iniquez announced his retirement earlier this month, citing upcoming treatment for a heart condition as the reason for his departure.
