The camp, Police And Children Together begins Monday, July 6, and concludes Friday, July 10, with a closing ceremony at 2 p.m.

Each morning, children between the ages of 9 and 12 are picked up and taken to Western Trails School where they will participate in exercise activities and group interaction.

Groups also will take road trips to activities such as bowling, the Cantigny Museum, swimming and participate in community service projects at the Belmont Village and Colony Park Senior Centers.

This is the eighth year the police department has hosted the camp.
