The Athlete Within to host Fall Exposure League program

The Athlete Within and Illinois Old School will host a 2008 Fall Exposure League and Skill Enhancement Program. The league is designed to prepare players for the upcoming high school season.
The program is designed to let high school players from around the area compete with fellow high school players who they will be playing against in the upcoming season. The league will be divided into two divisions - a freshman/sophomore division and a varsity division, as well.
Local college coaches and local talent scouts will also be in attendance to evaluate players progression and talent. Each player and team will compete in eight games over the course of September and October. All games will be 45 minutes in length, with each team having no more than 10 players, allowing each individual top lay at least 20 to 25 minutes per game.
The games will be played at The MAX, 4750 S. Vernon Ave., McCook. Evaluations begin Aug. 31 and games will be played Sept. 7, 14, 21 and 28 and Oct. 5, 12, 19 and 26. Freshman and sophomore leagues will run from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. and Varsity leagues will run from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The first hour of the aforementioned times will be spent with the players participating in shooting, passing and ball-handling moves, as well as full-court drills and defense. The next two hours will be spent in competitive games refereed by IHSA certified officials.
