Unlocked car burglarized
A purse, with contents valued at $4,000, was reported taken between 9 p.m. June 12 and 10 a.m. June 13 from an unlocked car parked in the 600 block of South Bodin Street, police said. The victim said someone entered more than one vehicle at the address, but the only item taken was a purse.
Laptop taken from car
A laptop computer valued at $1,200 was reported taken between 7:30 and 9:45 p.m. June 13 from an unlocked car parked in the 300 block of Springlake Avenue, police said.
Drinking parties busted
• Brian Rosen, 18, 718 Adams St., Hinsdale, was charged with unlawful use of alcohol and allowing persons under 21 years of age to consume alcohol after police were called to the same address for reports of an underage drinking party, police said.
Two other 15-year-old Hinsdale boys face charges, one for possession of marijuana, unlawful use of alcohol and resisting a police officer; and one for unlawful use of alcohol and allowing persons under 21 years of age to consume alcohol, according to police.
• Max Sullins, 18, 231 S. Thurlow St., Hinsdale, was charged with allowing persons under the age of 21 to gather to consume alcohol after being arrested at about 10:15 p.m. June 9 in the 200 block of South Thurlow Street, police said.
Statue reported taken
A statue valued at $200 was reported taken at about 11 p.m. June 12 from a residence in the 300 block of Ninth Street, police said.
The victim told investigators four men driving in an SUV took the statue from the property and drove off, police added.
Drug possession alleged
Two 16-year-old Hinsdale boys were charged with possession of marijuana after being arrested at about 2 a.m. June 14 after police observed the two walking near Eighth and Bodin streets in violation of curfew, according to police. Both teens were released to their parents and face court dates.
Darien
Mailboxes removed
Two mailboxes were reported stolen between the evening hours of June 10 and the early morning hours of June 11 in the 3300 block of Brewer Road, police said.
Both were recovered without damage, according to police.
In a separate case reported June 11, a resident in the 8300 block of Alden Lane reported a wooden mailbox at the same address was removed from the post, resulting in a loss of about $250, between 9:30 p.m. and 11:15 p.m., June 10.
DUI charge filed
Mykola Chyzh, 24, of Chicago, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and speeding at 5:45 a.m., June 7 in the area of Lemont Road and Interstate 55, police said.
