Cars reported burglarized
A pair of sunglasses and coins were reported taken between 11 p.m. June 6 and 9 a.m. July 7 from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 600 block of South Thurlow Street, police said. No estimate of property lost was given. The sunglasses were found later near the car, according to police.

A global positioning system and an iPod, valued at $749, were reported taken between 11 p.m. June 6 and 9 a.m. June 7 from an unlocked vehicle in the 600 block of South Thurlow Street, according to police.

A cell phone, valued at $30, was reported taken between June 5 and 8 from a car parked in the 600 block of West Fourth Street, according to police.

A laptop computer, cell phone, wedding ring and coins were reported taken between 10 p.m. June 1 and 5:30 p.m. June 2 from a car parked in the 600 block of South Quincy Street, police said. The total loss is $3,000.

2 charged with possession
Ralph A. Bergmann, 19, 553 S. Childs Ave., Hinsdale was charged with possession of marijuana, and Brandon D. Barfield, 18, 6028 Laurel Lane, Willowbrook was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on an expired drivers license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle after being arrested at about 1 p.m. June 8 near First Street and Garfield Avenue.

Darien
DUI charges filed
Edwin Torres, 22, Chicago was charged with two counts of driving while under the influence of alcohol and possession of a controlled substance after being arrested at about 7 p.m. June 5 on North Frontage Road at Carriage Greens Drive, police said.
Torres was arrested after police were called to the scene for reports of a driver passed out in a vehicle stopped on the road, according to police. Police said they discovered cocaine inside the vehicle.

Portable toilet set on fire
A portable toilet was set on fire at about 11:15 p.m. June 3 at the baseball field at  Hinsdale South High School, 7401 Clarendon Hills Road, according to police.
The toilet was destroyed and a nearby fence was damaged, according to police. The cause of the fire is undetermined, and no estimate of property loss was provided.

Stolen car recovered
A 2009 black Scion XB reported stolen from a driveway in the 8400 block of Sandalwood Court June 3 was recovered in Joliet three days later, according to police.

On June 3, police received a report that the car had been stolen between 9 p.m. June 2 and 6 a.m. June 3. A set of car keys were taken from a hook inside the home’s attached garage, police said.

According to police, the car was recovered on June 6. The property loss is estimated at $21,000.

Pellet damages window
An arched window of a home in the 300 block of Holly Avenue was damaged by a pellet shot from a gun at about 11 a.m. June 6, police said. The damage is estimated at $500.
