$82,000 lost from account
An unidentified Hinsdale woman lost $82,901.85 after someone gained access to an online bank account during a recent three-day period, according to police. Mark Wodka, Hinsdale deputy police chief, said four separate withdrawals were made from the woman’s account between May 19 and  21.

When the victim noticed the withdrawals had been made, she contacted Midwest Bank, 500 W. Chestnut St., and the bank contacted police May 22, police said. According to police, $8,900 was withdrawn from the account May 19, $18,700 May 20 and a total of $55,300 in two separate withdrawals — $27,600 and $27,700 —  May 21.

Wodka said police continue to investigate the case but have no suspects at this time.

DUI charge filed
Mary E. Perez, 23, of Chicago was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, speeding, improper lane usage, driving across double yellow lines, following too closely, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and driving without proof of insurance after being arrested at about 1:15 a.m. May 31 near 55th near Quincy streets, police said.

Scooter reported stolen
Jake D. Manzke, 22, 109 Second St., Downers Grove was charged with criminal trespass to a vehicle May 29 for taking unauthorized control of a motor scooter parked on the northbound Route 83 exit ramp at Ogden Avenue, police said.

According to police, the scooter was parked on the ramp at about 10 p.m. and the Manzke later took the scooter without permission. The scooter was recovered at the Manzke’s home and later returned to the victim, police said.

Down spouts taken
Three copper down spouts, valued at $500, were removed from garages between May 24 and 29 in the 800 block of North Elm Street, police said.

Battery counts filed
Eric Winiecke, 43, of Hinsdale was charged with two counts of domestic battery and interfering with the reporting of domestic violence May 29, four days after he allegedly made physical contact of an insulting and provoking nature with a person in the 400 block of West Walnut Street, police said.

Darien
$30,000 in tires missing
More than 300 tires, valued at $30,000, were reported taken between May 29 and 31 from a trailer parked at RS Logistics, 1033 S. Frontage Road, police said. According to police, access was gained to the trailer by cutting off a pad lock. The tires were then removed through a chain link fence that borders the adjacent Darien Public Works Department property.

Retail theft alleged
Joseph M. Andersen, 28, of Chicago was charged with felony retail theft after being arrested at 2 p.m. May 29 at The Home Depot, 201 75th St., for a report of a man leaving the store without paying for merchandise.

According to police, Andersen pushed a cart filled with a sink, range hood and ceiling suspension hardware, valued at $1,772, out of the store without paying.

Lawn ornament taken
A 30-pound concrete lawn ornament in the likeness of a rabbit was reported taken between 4 p.m. May 30 and 8 p.m. May 31 from the yard in the 5900 block of Grant Street, police said. The ornament is valued at $60.
