Naperville, IL -

Hinsdale Central's girls soccer team captured the program's first state championship trophy Saturday in Naperville.

The Red Devils (19-3-2) scored a pair of first-half goals and held on to defeat Fremd 2-1 at North Central College.

Lee Husayni finished a Courtney Arundel pass in the 15th minute, and Toni Kokenis added the eventual game-winner seven minutes later on an assist from Molly Gaffney.

The Vikings (19-5-1) cut their deficit in half midway through the second half.

Hinsdale Central goalie Nicole D'Agostino grabbed six saves.
