The next principal to guide Hinsdale Central High School could be named before school breaks for the holidays.
During the Monday, Nov. 2, Hinsdale Township High School District 86 Board of Education meeting, Superintendent Nicholas Wahl said five candidates have been interviewed for the post, and the slate will be pared down to two or three candidates for final interviews soon.
“After interviewing two or three finalists, we plan to vet a finalist, and the final decision may go to December,” Wahl said. “We are right where we want to be in the process.”
The district began a search earlier this year for a replacement for former Hinsdale Central Principal Kevin Pobst, who took over as principal at Naperville North High School in July.
The district hired Tom Paulsen and Frank Kessman in June to serve as co-interim principals at Hinsdale Central.
Wahl said a committee comprised of faculty, administrators, students and parents will be part of the interview process of the final candidate, once one is chosen.
