Painting stolen from car
A painting valued at $3,000 was among the items reported stolen between 11 p.m. Oct. 9 and 8 a.m. Oct. 10 in the 300 block of South County Line Road, police said.
According to police, an individual reported three unlocked cars parked at the location were entered, and an I-PASS toll collection transponder and some change also were taken.
Man charged with DUI
Sandro Navarro, 30, of Cicero, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, possession of marijuana and parking illegally on a roadway after being arrested t 5 a.m. Oct. 11 near Ogden Avenue and Madison Street, according to police.
Officers approached the car when Navarro appeared to be sleeping in the driver’s seat, police said.
Home windows broken
Seven windows in the rear of a home in the 400 block of East Sixth Street were reported broken between 2 p.m. Oct. 10 and 7 a.m. Oct. 12, police said. The estimated damage is $1,200, according to police.
Man charged with burglary
Nathaniel Borden Jr., 53, of Chicago was charged with burglary after being arrested at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 11 after police were called to Blockbuster Video, 30 S. Lincoln St.
Officers were called for reports of a man placing numerous DVDs inside his jacket and not paying for them, police said. Police said Borden had DVDs valued at $889 in his possession.
Darien
Man faces DUI charge
Kelly T. Winston, 48, 20W051 98th Place, of Lemont, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle after being arrested at 2:45 a.m. Oct. 4.
Winston was pulled over on Interstate 55 south of Cass Avenue after driving erratically on the right shoulder of the road, police said.
Bicycle reported stolen
A red woman’s Schwinn bicycle, valued at $200, was reported taken between 4 p.m. Oct. 6 and 1 p.m. Oct. 7 from a residence in the 7700 block of Lyman Avenue, police said. Police said the bicycle was not secured.
Assault charges filed
Eric J. Kasanda, 18, 7104 Exner Road, of Darien, was charged with assault after being arrested at 4:45 p.m. Oct. 9, police said. Kasanda allegedly attempted to strike a motorist after they were involved in an accident near 71st Street and Cass Avenue, police said.
