
Troy Whalen, assistant superintendent of business with Joliet Public School District 86, has been hired as the assistant superintendent for business with Community Consolidated School District 181.
During a special business meeting on March 16, the School Board voted 5-0 to hire Whalen, a Western Springs resident.
Whalen will replace Bernard Madden, interim assistant superintendent for business, July 1, District 181 officials said.
Whalen, who served in Joliet School District 86 for the last nine years, previously served as business manager at two public school districts — Salt Creek school District 48 in Villa Park and Hazel Crest School District 152.5.
Joliet School District 86 educates more than 11,000 students, employs more than 1,300 people and has a budget of $100 million, according to a release issued by School District 181.
