Kevin Pobst, principal at Hinsdale Central High School, will take over as principal at Naperville North High School after finishing out the 2008-09 academic year, according to Hinsdale Township High School District 86 officials.

Nicholas Wahl, District 86 superintendent of schools, made the announcement tonight at the regular meeting of the District 86 Board of Education.

“Mr. Pobst will be sorely missed. He has had a tremendous impact on Hinsdale Central,” Wahl said.

No other details were provided.

Wahl said the district would reach out to parents, students and faculty to begin searching for a replacement.

“They all will be part of the (search) process,” Wahl said.

“With someone like Kevin Pobst you can’t replace the man, so you try and replace the position,” Wahl said. “I have had a great professional working relationship with Mr. Pobst.”
