Riverside Brookfield High School Township District 208 is stalling its search for a new superintendent in hopes of finding a new, permanent principal, School Board President James Marciniak confirmed Monday, Nov. 2.
After an Oct. 29 meeting, School Board members determined they will now begin their search for a new principal, and will use Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates Ltd. — the same firm that was conducting the superintendent search — to find qualified candidates.
“What we’re looking for (interim superintendent) Dr. Bonnette to do in the near term here is flesh out the job description for the principal,” Marciniak said. “The superintendent is effectively the principal’s supervisor. He’ll recommend what he’s looking for in a principal to us.”
Marciniak said the board has a tentative schedule of naming the new principal at the February board meeting, and having the new administrator start in July.
The next School Board meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, at Riverside Brookfield High School, 160 Ridgewood Road, Riverside.
