Brookfield will host the 10th annual “Monsters on Mainstreet” trick-or-treat event.

The event includes trick-or-treating in Grand Boulevard and Broadway Avenue business districts from noon until 3 p.m. on Oct. 25. Participating businesses will have a special Halloween pumpkin sign in their window, designating them as a location where the children are welcome to trick-or-treat.

Following will be refreshments, pumpkin and taffy apple give-a-ways and a costume contest at Grossdale Station, 8820 1/2 Brookfield Ave.

The costume contest will be judged in the categories of scariest, funniest and most creative in four different age groups, beginning at 3 p.m.

This years event is sponsored by the Brookfield Historical Society and the Brookfield Chamber of Commerce.
