Lombard, IL -

The Lilac Parade Committee won’t meet on next year’s festivities for another three months, but the theme for the 2010 parade already has been decided.
Parade Chairwoman Gail Clark said the theme is “Honor Your Heritage.” She said she’s already fielded calls from people interested in participating.
Clark said Glenbard East High School, which will observe its 50th anniversary next year, has expressed interest in honoring its anniversary on a float.
Clark said she is hoping for weather similar to Sunday, where cool temperatures and sunny skies was this year’s parade’s best friend. The 15 days of Lilac Time concluded Sunday with the Lilac Parade, where more than 100 participants kept the judged parade going for more than two hours. This year’s theme was “Books on Parade.”
