• St. Hugh Church Society of Catholic Women will hold its annual Christmas Bazaar from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, in Keating Hall, 4315 Joliet Ave., Lyons. • La Grange Bible Church, 850 S. Seventh Ave., is inviting the community to their annual Thanksgiving Day celebration Nov. 27. The celebration begins with a morning hike with the group meeting at the church at 6:30 a.m. The men of the church will serve breakfast from 8 to 8:50 a.m. The traditional praise service will begin at 9 a.m. For more information, call (708) 354-2485.

• St. Hugh Church, 4315 Joliet Ave., Lyons, will hold its ninth annual Musichorale at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 7. A 50-member choir will sing the old and beloved traditional Christmas carols and today’s popular and contemporary holiday songs. Tickets are $11 for adults, $9 for seniors. • The eighth-grade confirmation class of the First Congregational Church of Western Springs will be taking a field trip Saturday, Nov. 22, to Feed My Starving Children in Aurora where they will prepare individual, high-nutrition food packets for Third World residents. This trip is just one of several field trips as part of their confirmation program. The students will be confirmed in worship Saturday, May 2, and will then become official members of the First Congregational Church.

• On Sunday, Nov. 30, the first Sunday of Advent, the First Congregational Church of Western Springs will present a free Christmas concert and sing-a-long open to the public. The concert will be held at 5 p.m. at 1106 Chestnut St. Members of the church’s contemporary Spirit Worship band will play some familiar and favorite Christmas songs, as well as some lesser known songs of the season. • On Dec. 12 and 13, the First Congregational Church of Western Springs will host a Madrigal Dinner holiday event. This multi-course dinner and choral affair will begin at 6:30 p.m. in the sanctuary, 1106 Chestnut St. Tickets are $50 per person. • Mary Queen of Heaven is holding a celebration to mark the Feast of St. Cecilia, patron saint of music and musicians. Musicians are invited during the service to come and be blessed with their instruments during this special ceremony in honor of St. Cecilia. The Mass will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at 5300 W. 24th St., Cicero, with a reception to follow in the school gymnasium. For more information, contact the Rev. • St. Michael’s Lutheran Church of La Grange Park is hosting its annual Thanksgiving Day service at 10 a.m. Nov. 27. All are welcome to this service of celebration and Holy Communion. The altar and church will be specially decorated for the season with breads and fruits. The newly installed minister, the Rev. Dayton Williams, will officiate. • The Mater Christi Holy Name Society will host its annual Turkey Shoot from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, in Menarik Hall at the school, 2400 S. 10th Ave., North Riverside. Turkeys will be raffled off every five minutes. Hams, prasky, pumpkin pie, breads and other groceries are available to win. A split the pot and pull tabs with cash prizes will also be available.
