• The eighth-grade confirmation class of the First Congregational Church of Western Springs will be taking a field trip Saturday, Nov. 22, to Feed My Starving Children in Aurora where they will prepare individual, high-nutrition food packets for Third World residents. This trip is just one of several field trips as part of their confirmation program. The students will be confirmed in worship Saturday, May 2, and will then become official members of the First Congregational Church.

• On Sunday, Nov. 30, the first Sunday of Advent, the First Congregational Church of Western Springs will present a free Christmas concert and sing-a-long open to the public. The concert will be held at 5 p.m. at 1106 Chestnut St. Members of the church’s contemporary Spirit Worship band will play some familiar and favorite Christmas songs, as well as some lesser known songs of the season.
