• Matthew Thoms of La Grange Park was named to the spring-semester dean’s list at Tufts University, Medford/Somerville, Mass. To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must attain a minimum 3.4 grade-point average.
• Grant Kassel of La Grange was named to the spring-semester dean’s list at Boston University, Boston, Mass.
• Twelve residents received degrees from Illinois Wesleyan University, Bloomington, during May commencement exercises. Graduates include Berkeley resident Ryan Gilliam; Brookfield resident Taissa Boyko; Burr Ridge residents, Joseph Broucek, Prianka Sharma and Kathleen Tobin; Countryside resident Stephanie Hollis; La Grange residents Ryan McGuire and Megan Kokontis; La Grange Park resident Steven Groetsema; Westchester resident Kyle Griffith; and Western Springs residents Stephen Perona and Mallory Whitlock.
• Katherine Andrick of La Grange Park received a music merit scholarship from Elmhurst College. She is a senior majoring in music education at the college.
• Christine Schaffer of Brookfield was named to the spring-semester high dean’s list at Millikin University, Decatur. Students earning a perfect 4.0 grade-point average are eligible for the high dean’s list.
• Rebecca Ramirez of Brookfield and Yamil Guerra of Countryside received Senior Leadership awards from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, during spring honors ceremonies. The leadership awards are presented to students whose participation and leadership in student organizations significantly enhances the quality of campus life.
