Man faces battery charge
Joseph Sands III, 39, of the 1800 block of Sunnyside Avenue, was charged with battery Oct. 19, police said.

Police responded to the same block at about 8:15 p.m. after receiving a call about an incident involving a minor. When police arrived, they found Sands on the ground, holding down a 15-year-old. He was arrested after police determined there was no reason for the tackle.
Sands was given a Nov. 21 court date in Maywood.

Trespassing alleged
Donald Jacobs, 54, of the 1500 block of Hull Avenue, was charged with criminal trespass to property Oct. 21, police said.

Jacobs’ neighbor reported seeing him on her back porch, reaching for the back door at about 8:15 a.m., police said. Jacobs had been issued a previous warning to stay off the property.
Police said Jacobs was given a Dec. 30 court date in Maywood.

Disorderly conduct alleged
A 47-year-old Chicago man was arrested Oct. 22 after police received complaints about an intoxicated man outside of J-Dee’s Convenient store, 10147 Roosevelt Road, police said

When police arrived, they saw David Lee yelling profanities at customers as they left the store. Police asked Lee to leave the area but he refused. He was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct.

He was given a Dec. 30 court date in Maywood.

Heroin found at traffic stop
Keith Hayden, of Wauconda, and Bryan Kratz, of Kildeer, both 23, were charged with possession of a controlled substance Oct. 21, police said.

The men were pulled over near Mannheim Road and Interstate 290 at about 9:45 p.m., after their vehicle showed the owner’s son was wanted on a warrant, police said. A search revealed the men were in possession of heroin.

Each was charged with possession of less than 15 grams of a substance that contained heroin. Hayden was also arrested on two outstanding failure to appear warrant, police said.
Both men were given an Oct. 22 court date in Maywood.
