Fermilab Director Pier Oddone announced to Fermilab employees the suspension of involuntary layoffs at the lab during a gathering in Ramsey Auditorium at Wilson Hall on the Fermilab campus in Batavia. United States Senator Richard Durbin, Congresswoman Judy Biggert, Congressman Bill Foster and Acting Deputy Secretary of Energy Jeffrey Kupfer were guest speakers at the event. Many of the remarks during the event were met with cheers from the standing room only crowd of employees at the event July 2.
