Outcast Jazz Band to lead swing dance

The Willowbrook Ballroom, 8900 S. Archer Ave., Willow Springs, will host a swing dancing evening with the Outcast Jazz Band at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22.
Swing lessons are provided from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m., and open dancing follows. Founded by the late Gilbert "Smokey" Robinson, the original Outcast Jazz Band consisted of 10 kids ranging in age from 13 to 17. The band is now 17 members strong, including five saxophones, four
trombones, four trumpets, a full rhythm section, and several vocalists.
Admission is $12 or $10 with a student ID, and parking is free. Dancers are encouraged to attend in vintage attire. No jeans or gym shoes are allowed. For more information, call (708) 839-1000 or visit
