Village moving forward with manager position
It takes enormous energy, and full-time input, to handle the daily business of modern government, at any level, whether it be local, county, state or federal.
That is why, in my opinion, the elected officials of the 26 suburbs surrounding Westchester, whose Web sites I have reviewed, all appear to see the need for a professional manager, or administrator, educated in the formal daily business of municipal government. A position of manager, or administrator is listed among the management, in each of them.
It is obvious that the old-time, “smoke-filled room” way of running government can no longer work in a modern world of municipal administration. The elected Board of Trustees in Westchester recognize the need for a full-time professional administration, and hired a manager educated in municipal administration, to take care of the daily business associated with village affairs.
I am glad to see that Westchester has moved forward, and entered the modern world of municipal administration.
