Two charged in recent
spate of vandalism
Abraham J. Dangla, 19, 218 Paddington Lane, Bolingbrook, and Jose L. Aguilar, 20, 15 Q Fernwood Drive, Bolingbrook, were charged with criminal damage to property June 24 for several recent acts of vandalism in the Fernwood area, police said.
“Apparently, the two men were drinking and decided to commit some acts of vandalism to cars, fences, vehicles and streets in the subdivision during the early morning hours of June 17,” Teppel said.
According to police reports, the two men used spray paint to damage property at about 1 a.m., and police received several calls from neighbors throughout the morning.
A tip from a street informant led detectives to question the two men, Teppel said.
The suspects face misdemeanor charges locally, and the Will County state’s attorney’s office is conducting a felony review, Teppel said.
Five face charges of
driving under influence
Bolingbrook police charged five motorists with driving while under the influence of alcohol in separate cases recently.
Donovan Dutch, 17, 649 Kensington Way, Bolingbrook, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving too fast for conditions and improper lane use at 2 a.m. June 24 in the 700 block of North Pinecrest Road, police said.
Anthony Brown, 46, 480 Rockhurst Road, Bolingbrook, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, illegal lane use and speeding at 1:30 a.m. June 23 on Lancaster Lane near Sierra Lane, according to police reports.
Rafael Moreno, 26, 210 Delaware Drive, Bolingbrook, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, speeding, driving without a license and driving without insurance at 8:15 a.m. June 23 in the 200 block of Delaware Drive, police said.
Christopher Panno, 19, 435 Stone Gate Court, Willowbrook, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving too fast for conditions, improper lane use and driving without insurance at 2:45 a.m. on Lily Cache Lane near Veterans Parkway, according to police reports.
Esteban Mata, 48, of Lockport, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving without insurance, improper lane use and expired registration at 3:45 a.m. June 22 on Weber Road near 111th Street, police said.
More than $10,000 lost
in four business thefts
Bolingbrook police report four thefts to businesses between June 19 and June 24 resulted in loss of merchandise estimated at $10,900.
A safe containing cash and papers valued at more than $4,000 reportedly was stolen from a business in the 400 block of West Boughton Road after midnight June 22, police said.
According to police reports, a man entered a business in the 100 block of South Weber Road at 10:30 a.m. June 19, grabbed a bin containing 188 PlayStation 3 video games, valued at more than $6,100, and ran out of the store without paying.
Four memory sticks and five memory cards with readers, valued at more than $300, reportedly were stolen between June 18 and June 20 from a business in the 200 block of South Weber Road, police said.
Two cartons of cigarettes and four bottles of alcohol, with a combined value of more than $500, reportedly were stolen from a business in the 400 block of North Bolingbrook Drive after midnight, June 24, according to police reports.
Computer, music player stolen from vehicle
A laptop computer, an MP3 player and a digital camera, with a combined value of more than $3,000 combined, reported were stolen from a locked vehicle after 12:45 p.m. June 20 in the 300 block of Brookview Lane, police said.
Man charged with
aggravated battery
Angel Hernandez, 22, 1256 Lemoyne Ave., Romeoville, was charged with aggravated battery, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest after police said they were called to the 1000 block of Bothwell Circle at 3 p.m. June 21.
