Davon McCoy, 28, 5 G Wildwood Lane, Bolingbrook, remains in custody at the Will County Adult Detention Facility after being charged June 25 with criminal sexual assault and domestic battery by the Will County Sheriff’s police.
McCoy is charged with having sexual contact with an 8-year-old girl on several occasions during the past three years, according to Lt. Ken Teppel, spokesman for the Bolingbrook Police Department.
Teppel said McCoy was being held in Jackson County, Ill., on unspecified charges when the mother of the victim filed a complaint with Bolingbrook police.
The mother and daughter live in Woodridge.
Teppel said the victim reportedly told her mother, who in turn filed a complaint with the Bolingbrook police because McCoy lives in Bolingbrook.
After Bolingbrook investigators interviewed the victim, they shared the information with the Will County state’s attorney’s office.
McCoy was transported from Jackson County to Will County June 25 and charged.
As of Wednesday, McCoy had not posted the necessary $20,000 bail to be released. July 2
