Three Bolingbrook High School students have qualified for the national finals of ACT-SO competition to be held in Los Angeles in July.
Jordan Henderson (Filmmaking), Justin Hill (Music Instrument Contemporary) and Malika Kelly (Dance) all qualified for the finals, sponsored by the Afro-Academic, Cultural, Technological and Scientific Olympics (ACT-SO).
The students qualified by earning gold medals at ACT-SO regional competition March 19 at the College of DuPage.
Other Bolingbrook High School students to earn medals at the regional competition included: Joaquin Latchmen (Dance), Jessica Beamon (Medicine/Health), Austin Johnson (Oratory), Maimuna Venzant (Playwriting) and Hill (Music Instrumental-Classical).
Danielle Stanciel earned an honorable mention in Oratory.
ACT-SO is an academic enrichment program of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) for African-American high school students.
