Freshmen will participate in a pilot program this year designed to help students make an easier transition from middle school to high school.

Desiree J. Smith of Bolingbrook is the recipient of a Northern Illinois University Dean's Award. The award is given to graduating students who demonstrate significant achievement and leadership in the areas of scholarship, campus and community activities and professional service. Desiree is graduating with a bachelor of arts degree in journalism.

The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) recently recognized its 51 semifinalists in the 2008 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Stephanie Broeske and Anthony Fiaccato of Bolingbrook recently received their Bachelor degrees from Illinois State University.
