A Bartlett woman was charged with prostitution and drug offenses Friday.
Sherry A. Rutz, 30, of 102 N. Elroy Ave., invited an undercover police officer into her home to engage in sexual activity for money around 10:20 a.m. Friday, police said.
Police began investigating Rutz on Sept. 4 after discovering her profile named “Mercedes” on a local adult escort Web site, according to reports.
Following an investigation, Bartlett police seized less than 30 grams of cocaine and drug paraphernalia from Rutz’s residence, officers said.
She was charged with a Class 4 Felony for prostitution within 1,000 feet of real property comprising a school, a Class 1 Felony for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and a Class A misdemeanor for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Rutz was transported to the Cook County Jail in Rolling Meadows Saturday to await her bail bond hearing. She was later released on a $5,000 personal recognizance bond with a court date of 9 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25 at the Cook County Court facility in Rolling Meadows.
