Bloomingdale, IL -

Turkey is the fowl topic of the month. It’s uppermost on our minds and will soon be on our palates. For Dick Wickstrom, turkey is foremost.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, Dick Wickstrom Chevrolet, 555 E. Irving Park Road, Roselle, will host a car care clinic. A factory-trained technician will present information on basic maintenance for all cars. Clinic attendees who test-drive a new or pre-owned car will receive a gift card for the purchase of a turkey.

Likewise, attendees who donate a $5 gift card to Wal-Mart, Kohl’s or Target for Marklund Children’s Home will be entered into a drawing for a flat-screen TV. In case you’re unfamiliar, Marklund Homes of Bloomingdale and Geneva care for persons who have severe developmental disabilities.

For information, call (888) 770-1994 or e-mail Cathy@wickstromchevrolet.com.

Another Roselle event

From 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, the Friends of the Roselle Library will host an audio and video sale. While there, check out the perpetual book sale. Gently-used audiotapes, videotapes and books are an economical way to spend a cold winter evening.

In addition, the Friends of the Library are always open to new volunteers. For information, call (630) 529-1641.

Roselle Scouts bowling in Addison

Did you promise yourself to dust off your bowling ball? Do so and join the bowlers of Roselle’s Boy Scout Troops 194 and 408 on Saturday, Nov. 15, at Stardust Bowl, 37 E. Lorraine Ave., Addison.

The bowling night fundraiser aims to help finance the Scouts’ travels to Florida next summer to participate in a Hi Adventure Boy Scout Sea Base program.

Dinner will begin at 8:30 p.m. and bowling is at 10 p.m. The cost is $30 per bowler. For information, contact John Gaspari at (847) 456-2985.
