Jolene and John Nelson of Glen Ellyn celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Sept. 20, 2008, with a family gathering in Wheaton. The couple were married Sept. 20, 1958, at Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa.
The Nelsons have five children, Christine (Len) Nelson, Julie (Jerry) Nelson Dean, Tom (Maria) Nelson, David (Mary) Nelson and Joy Nelson; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
