The snow may have come a few days late, but that did not stop the city from starting the holiday season with the “Miracle on 22nd Street” Saturday night, and the festivities will head about a mile and a half south for “Deck the Depot,” the city’s eighth annual holiday lights festival in the Depot District Saturday.

Berwyn Development Corp. Special Events Coordinator Marybeth Eurek said she hopes if there is precipitation during this year’s event, it’s in the white powdery form instead of the rain that drenched the event last year.

“If it was snow we could handle it,” Eurek said. “You don’t want to take a sleigh ride when it’s pouring.”

Eurek said sleigh, trolley and hay rides will be free of charge, unlike previous years.

Below is a list of businesses that will be holding open houses from 5 to 9 p.m. Saturday night.
