Wheaton -

A possible case of the H1N1 virus known as swine flu has appeared in Wheaton, health officials announced Friday.

The case is one of 11 instances in DuPage County where people are showing flu-like symptoms that might be swine flu. So far one person in DuPage County, a 26-year-old Elmhurst man, has been confirmed to have the disease. He was treated at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital and released, health officials say.

The Wheaton resident with the possible infection is between 10 and 15 years old, said Jason Gerwig, a spokesman for the DuPage County Health Department. Across the county, the sick people range in age from 5 to 39, he said.
