Two cases of H1N1 (swine) flu in Kane County were officially confirmed today by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The cases are from students at Rotolo Middle School in Batavia and Marmion Academy in Aurora, both of which were shut down last Wednesday after the probable cases were reported.
The Kane County Department of Health is still awaiting official confirmation on the remaining nine suspected swine flu cases in the county, a health department official said.
“These (the confirmed) were sent in last week,” said Tom Schlueter, health department spokesman. “We can look at them (results of the remaining cases) trickling in probably the rest of the week.”
Schlueter said all residents with suspected and confirmed strains of the H1N1 virus are being treated at home and recovering.
