One goal for big brother and one goal for little brother produced one huge victory for St. Joseph soccer. Both juniors but 11 months apart in age, Marco Gutierrez and Alex Gutierrez notched second-half goals to beat Bremen 2-0 in Tuesday’s Class 2A supersectional at Benedictine University.

The La Grange Panthers 9-year-old baseball team is holding open tryouts for its 2009 season. Tryouts will be held on Saturday Sept. 27 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., with registration and warm-up beginning at 12:30 p.m. Tryouts will be held at The MAX, located on 47th St. one mile east of 1st Ave., in McCook.
