Anthony Hernandez, 30, of the 1400 block of South Grove Avenue, and Josue Ramirez, 21, of Chicago, were arrested at about noon Aug. 18 after police received a report of a possible burglary, according to a police report.
When police arrived, Hernandez and Ramirez were standing next to a Chevrolet Lumina on the 1800 block of South 59th Court in Cicero, just outside of the home that had been burglarized, police said.
Officers later found several stolen items inside the vehicle and arrested both men.
Ramirez told police Hernandez told him he needed help moving some items from his home and Ramirez agreed, police said.
Ramirez drove his friend to the home and Hernandez entered through a bedroom window and removed a safe, a laptop, and a plasma television. Police said the home actually belonged to Hernadez’s step-mother but that neither Hernandez nor his father live at the home any longer.
Hernandez currently is on parole from a previous burglary charge, police said.
