Man charged with theft
A Jiffy Lube employee was charged with theft after a driver found her iPod missing from her car Oct. 31.

Officers responded to Jiffy Lube, 6930 Cermak Road, and were told by a customer her iPod was missing after employees serviced her car, according to police.

Officers spoke to Michael Panico, 20, of Brookfield who said he was cleaning the interior of the car and took the iPod for his own personal use, police said. Panico was charged with theft.

Battery alleged
Two men were charged with battery following a fight Nov. 1.

Officers noticed a group of people on the 6500 block of Cermak Road at about 2:15 a.m. Nov. 1. When they approached the group, officers found Danny Castro, 31, and Oscar Delpilar, 35, both of Cicero, fighting with security officers, according to police.

Officers broke up the fight and arrested the two men involved, police said. Castro and Delpilar were each charged with battery and disorderly conduct.

Woman faces DUI charge
A woman was charged with drunken driving after she was found asleep at the wheel of her car Nov. 1.

Officers responded to the 3900 block of Ridgeland Avenue at about 3:35 a.m. Nov. 1 to the report of a car blocking traffic. When officers arrived, they found Gabriela Gonzalez, 33, of the 2200 block of South Gunderson Avenue, Berwyn asleep in the driver’s seat of the car with the engine running and the car in drive, according to police.

Gonzalez was awoken by police after several attempts and was given a field sobriety test, police said.

Gonzalez failed the sobriety test and was taken into custody. She was charged with improper parking on a roadway and drunken driving, police said.

Cash reported stolen
A black bag containing an unknown amount of cash was reported stolen from the lunch room of Hiawatha Elementary School, 6539 26th St., at about 12:40 p.m. Nov. 2.

Five school employees, who were in the lunch room at the time the bag went missing, told police they do not know what happened to the bag, police said.

Apartment burglarized
An apartment in the 6900 block of Cermak Road was reported burglarized Nov. 2.

A woman told police she came home at about 5:50 p.m. Nov. 2 and found the door to her apartment open, according to police. When she entered, she found a jewelry box on her bed with multiple items taken from it, police said.

Items reported stolen include three gold chains and one silver chain with a total value of $170, police said.

Domestic battery charged
A man was charged with domestic battery Nov. 3.

Officers responded the Citgo Gas Station at the corner of 26th Street and Austin Boulevard to the report of a domestic disturbance. The alleged victim told police Brandon Blackmon, 25, of the 2600 block of Ridgeland Avenue, Berwyn had struck the victim several times with a closed fist, according to police.

Blackmon was charged with domestic battery and unlawful interference with reporting a domestic battery, police said.

Armed robbery reported
A hair salon was robbed at gunpoint Nov. 4.

Officers responded to Adam & Eva Unisex Family Haircuts, 2144 S. Clarence Ave., at about 1 p.m. Nov. 4 to the report of a robbery. An employee told police a black woman wearing all dark clothing and sunglasses came into the shop, pulled out a gun and demanded money, according to police.

The employee removed $100 from the store’s cash register and gave it to the woman, who then fled northbound on Clarence Avenue to Cermak Road.

Police have no suspects in custody for the incident.
