Two women were charged with prostitution after an undercover sting by the Berwyn Police Department Oct. 22.
Officers investigated an ongoing complaint against a reference of people servicing the Berwyn area on the classified advertising site Craigslist. Officers called a number listed on the advertisement and set up an appointment. The woman responded it would cost $250 an hour, police said. The woman told officers on the phone she was picking up a friend from the airport and would bring her over for another $250, police said. The officer set up a meeting that night with the women in Berwyn, according to police.
The two women arrived at about 7:40p.m. and called the undercover officers. The officer escorted them into an apartment and handed the woman the $250 each, police said.
When one of the women started to remove her clothing, the undercover officer signaled additional officers in outside the apartment’s back door to enter and arrest the two women, police said.
The two women, Ashley Carson, 27, of Mundelein, and Nicolette Sylvia, 24, of Boston were charged with prostitution. Sylvia also had a warrant for another prostitution arrest from the Cook County Sheriff’s Department, police added.
